Ulmus part 2

07Jul09

Pattern:  Ulmus by Kirsten Kapur at Through the loops

Yarn:  Posh Yarn Charlotte 4-ply. April Sock Club.

Needles:  3.75mm.

Modifications:  None.

Of course Lily had to have a go at Ulmus too.  We spent a happy few hours looking for a good yarn combination before she settled on this duo.  It’s not all that clear from the pictures but the green actually has small flashes of pink and aqua in there.  The contrast was just a boring creamy 4-ply but the Posh yarn bled when Lily blocked it and so the cream became a mottled lemony/yellow mix.  A happy accident really.

The silk content of the Posh has given this a much drapier feel than my Ulmus – we’ll be fighting over this one I think.  We’re building up quite a collection of these shoulder shawls and the urge to knit more hasn’t lessened any!  I’ll be fighting my way out from underneath them soon!  Which pattern next do you think?
