Another super quick knit. This took just a matter of hours to complete and I think would make the perfect gift knit. In my eagerness to get to the colourwork [...]

We call them pirates too
Pattern: Pirate mittens by Adrian Bizilia
Yarn: Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino. 1 ball each of black and pale lime green.
Needles 2.5mm DPNs
Modifications: plain thumb.
Another early morning photo shoot as Joel really wanted to wear these to school today. The chances of them coming home in one piece is fairly slim, let alone in any state fit to photograph. [...]

Lily’s Mystery socks
Pattern: Socktoberfest Through the loops Mystery sock.
Yarn: Opal Uni Sock.
Needles: 2.5mm DPNs
As if weekday mornings are not hectic enough already, 8:15am saw Lily and I tackling a little photo shoot today! She can’t wait to get them marked as finished on Ravelry so it just had to be done. These are only her 2nd pair of socks [...]

Waves of grain
Pattern: Waves of grain from Knitty.
Yarn: Knitwitches Pure silk lacewight. 1 skein.
Needles: 4.5mm and 3.75mm.
Modifications: Knit about 12 rows less than pattern, and didn’t bother with the beads.

11 today
It’s Lily’s 11th birthday today and here she is modelling her birthday present from my mum. Inspired by this, my mum knitted the vest with no pattern or chart. Scary freestyle stuff!
Lily totally loves it, and I think the colours really suit her. I would say that though because I picked them!
She’s busy knitting away on [...]

Happy
Ok. This sock. You’re either gonna love it or hate it. Amidst all those bright pinkish tones it was the sobering sludgy olive colour that drew my eye. This is Wendy Happy bamboo 4-ply. It is super soft and I’m sure will make the comfiest sock. It is also an absolute bugger for splitting. We’ll see how [...]
